We're a student-run research group at Cornell building modular surgical simulators, from standard organ modules to ones made from a patient's own scans. We're looking for students who want hands-on research experience across engineering, imaging, and data.

What you'd work on

Work that spans the bench and the code.

  • Hydrogel fabrication

Mixing and casting PVA hydrogels, freeze–thaw processing, and mechanical testing.

  • CAD and mold design

Turning segmented anatomy into molds we can print and cast.

  • Imaging and segmentation

Segmenting patient MRI and CT scans in 3D Slicer.

  • Computer vision and software

Building models and tools for surgical skill assessment.

  • Data and statistics

Designing experiments and analyzing mechanical and study data.

  • Literature and presenting

Reviewing prior work and presenting ours at conferences.

What you get

Real research, start to finish.

  • Hands-on bench work in the Tang Hall Design Space, Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering
  • Experience across the full pipeline, from patient imaging to a finished phantom
  • The chance to contribute to conference abstracts and presentations
